Public transport
No nationally-run public bus service operates through Freeland. Instead S1 and S2 buses run along the A40 to the south of Freeland, between Oxford and Witney. And from March 5, bus services to the north of Freeland are changing. There is a new S7 service (click link for timetable) running between Oxford and Witney, which can be caught at the top of Wroslyn Road on the A4095. The 233 still operates, but now will only run between Witney and Burford, and is joined by an additional 234 service.
To link to these two services, the First and Last Mile bus service, run through a community initiative, was launched in early 2022. The 411 route runs between Hanborough Railway Station and Eynsham Church, through Freeland, four times a day, stopping on demand, and therefore linking with the other bus services and the train service. The service times remain the same to link to the new S7 service
Hanborough Railway Station ("HAN" - OX29 8LA) is at the most easterly end of Long Hanborough and is just 1hr 10mins from London Paddington, passing through Oxford on the way. In the other direction, it links to Malvern, Worcester and Hereford. Great Western Railway services times for Hanborough can be accessed here.
